Recruiting Comedies & Films

You have the freedom---and the encouragement----to recommend works of local comedians and filmmakers to the Chuckle Channel.

• Staff members, for example, may have made funny clips on their digital video cameras
• A local film festival may feature films of any length that meet our criteria
• Students in a local filmmaking course may want to create a comedy for a school project
• All films, whatever their source, will be carefully screened to be sure they meet the SUFI criteria.

Once we've screened the film, we will contact the filmmaker or comedian. They will be sent a legal agreement to sign. Once all signatures are in place, the film will join the list of works to be added to the next edition of the Chuckle Channel.

What all these artists give----amateur and professional alike---are the non-exclusive rights for us to show their film on hospital closed-circuit television stations for three years. One of our primary goals is to promote their talent by means of wide exposure; in addition, they are paid a very small stipend.

They do not, of course, give away any ownership, replication or distribution rights. If you should decide to sell their films in your gift shop, for example, you would do so by purchasing the films from the authorized distributor.
